Belated Memorial Day and Canada Day wishes to my Canadian clients! July is here and I'm still wondering how May and June disappeared so fast!

The Purple Raven Boutique just published it's latest newsletter. If you aren't a subscriber, you can still check it out here at:  https://mailchi.mp/03de485c3e2f/news-from-the-nest

I've found myself torn between my business and my garden these days. In this part of Canada, spring arrives late and this year things are even further behind as we struggle with unusual weather. This past week, the temperatures dropped dramatically and some parts of the province actually had snow!  So when the weather improves enough to finally get into the garden it is almost impossible to stay indoors! These little guys are nearly always the first of my perennials to come into bloom - mossy pinks (saxifrage).  I love how cheerful they are!

Of course, in between the few warmer days we've had, I've been at the bench, making pieces inspired by our bizarre and changeable weather.  We've had a lot of fog and a few stormy, windy days that have shut down the local ferry service.  Little wonder I'd end up making a pendant named "Storm's Coming"! This piece will be going to the Historic Sites Association as part of my submission for their upcoming gallery show. To see it in person, you can drop by their premises in mid July at 309 Water Street, in historic St. John's.

Anyway, I do know that parts of Canada and the USA are sweltering in heat waves, so to help you cool off, check out the video for Storm's Coming.

Today is a statutory holiday in Canada, so be safe if you are travelling. To my American customers, best wishes as you approach your Independence Day holiday.
